On deck: The winner will advance to the D-II state semifinals on May 30 against Olmsted Falls or Toledo St. Johns.

For the record: Both teams pulled off stunning wins in their district semi-finals, setting up one of the closest rematches of the season. Shagrin Falls was able to build a lead when the two faced each other in the regular season, but the college tied with six seconds remaining. After that, the Preppers won after two overtime games. … It’s a clash of styles because the preppers play fast and want to work corner to corner as quickly as possible. Shagrin Falls will take a more methodical approach to the game as the Tigers want to run as many sets as they need to score. … The matchup to watch will be College’s Preston Blue vs. Shagrin Falls’ James Cosmeides. Few defensemen can match Blue’s stature, but basketball’s standout has done a solid regular season job and the preppers are likely to find another shot at goal. But with a variety of scoring options in college, the Tigers’ defense needs to flow smoothly to slow their pace.
