Couples wishing for good luck in love are visiting a shrine in Dublin that houses the partial ruins of St. Valentine’s Day.
The engaged couple received their wedding ring blessing on Monday at the Carmelite Church on Whitefriar Street by Bishop Dennis Narti at the Temple of Saint Valentine.
The churches in the historic city center are traditional pilgrimage sites during this time.
Among those at the church were the engaged couple, Gavin and Patrick Corcoran, Ilona Catherine Drepard and Patrick Michael Lennon.
The remains of Saint Valentine, who was executed in Rome for refusing to renounce Christianity in the 3rd century, were brought to Dublin in 1836 when Pope Gregory XVI gifted them to the Irish preacher Father John Sprat. I got there.
