Northwest Texas Healthcare System announces new pharmacy director

Northwest Texas Healthcare System (NWTHS) has promoted Magen Fields, PharmD to the Director of Pharmacy. Fields is licensed as a Registered Pharmacist and serves as a Pharmacist Preceptor with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.

Fields began her career at NWTHS in 2017, according to a news release, and has served on numerous committees during her tenure to include Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Medication Safety Team, and Antimicrobial Stewardship Sub-Committee. Fields was also instrumental in establishing employee assistance programs including one of the first food banks for employees offered at a business.

Magen Fields has been promoted to Director of Pharmacy at Northwest Texas Healthcare System.

Fields received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Texas Tech University in Lubbock and her Doctor of Pharmacy through Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo. She is an alumna of Leadership Amarillo & Canyon and is a current member of the American Society of HealthSystem Pharmacists.

Annie’s Project — Education for Women in Agriculture will offer targeted training in agricultural risk to women in the Texas Panhandle beginning Oct. 2.

Annie’s Project for women in agriculture coming to Amarillo Oct. 2-Nov. 6

The nationally awarded workshop, Annie’s Project – Education for Women in Agriculture, will be offered Oct. 2-Nov. 6 by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Amarillo. The six-week educational workshop specifically tailored toward women in agriculture will be held at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center, 6500 Amarillo Boulevard West.
