According to the announcer, medical personnel treated Hamlin on the field for about 10 minutes and appeared to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation before an ambulance entered the field. It appears that Hamlin was being given oxygen when he was loaded into the ambulance.

“Hamlin received immediate medical attention on the field by the team, independent medical staff and local paramedics,” the NFL said in a statement. “Our thoughts are with Damar and the Buffalo Bills. We will provide more information as it becomes available.”

An ESPN announcer said Hamlin’s mother was at the game and was in the ambulance with him.

Players from both teams swarmed around Hamlin as he received treatment, some looking distressed. Some were in tears.

Several other teams wished luck to Hamlin and the Bills, who were playing at Cincinnati’s Peycoe Stadium.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul murmured She said she was “praying” for Hamlin, saying, “Our hearts are with his family, loved ones and the entire @BuffaloBills community.”
