Mustang, Oklahoma (KFOR) – Feeding families who need to be thousands of miles away.that was saturday’s mission holy spirit catholic church About 100 volunteers sorted and bagged the food packets. The church he started collecting a year ago. The money raised will be used for food packets that the church will send to starving families in impoverished countries.
“More than $14,000 was raised that year,” said Father Joseph Jacobi. Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
With that money, I bought supplies for food packets such as dry goods and beans. The church had an ambitious goal of packing 40,000 bags in one day.
“This is a great blessing not only for the people we feed with these food packets, but also for the people we work with,” Jacobi said. It’s about getting a sense of the wider community to which we belong.”
A sense of community led one group of young volunteers to organize the campaign. They learned early on that kindness can go a long way, even in a bag.
Volunteer Isabella Dillard said, “We’re just so happy to be involved in something so big and just to see people smiling.
This group surpassed their goal by filling over 41,000 packets. Food that fills the stomach of a hungry family.
