Fashion Squad School Expands to CT
The Fashion Squad School, founded by Tribecan Layana Aguilar, will open a second location this year in Greenwich, Connecticut.She moved her Tribeca studio out of Hudson to Warren in September 2021Layana also just received a Trailblazer Award from the Tiffany Brown Foundation during Fashion Week. Brown is a fashion designer and philanthropist, whose non-profit organization provides young women with guidance and work in the fashion industry.
Installing GEO on Broadway
Downtown Alliance has a new installation titled ‘Geo’ by design studio Hou de Sousa. This is his massive 30-by-10-foot dome filled with brightly colored ropes that create a corridor for visitors to walk through. The installation is located in Liberty’s plaza in front of his 140 Broadway, right next to Noguchi’s Cube. The Downtown Alliance previously partnered with this studio to present another Wright his installation, “Ziggy,” at 200 Water. This is valid until March 30th.
Buried alive in a book?
My guess is that the condo owners here are doing renovations and books are piled up in the windows. Still, I like the idea of an entire apartment filled with books, like an aquarium in water.
