Authorities said swift interagency and multi-department action led to the arrest of a suspect in the Luch shooting on Saturday afternoon.
At noon on New Year’s Eve, the dispatcher received a call that a gunshot victim was being taken to a hospital, according to a report from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
Callers reported that the suspect was still believed to be armed at Block 400 of China Gulch Road, the location of the alleged shooting, while the victim was being transported.
A deputy at the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the department’s SWAT and crisis negotiation team responded to the speech with the help of nearby Oregon State Police officers.
The suspects, who have not yet been identified, were detained without incident, the report said.
Currently, sheriff’s office detectives are on the scene to investigate the circumstances of the shooting.
The victim is in stable condition at the hospital, according to the Sheriff’s Office report.
