Is that the ‘most inconvenient’ convenience store in the world?
Pingjiang County: A convenience store located on a high cliff in China has created a buzz online. Photos of the store have gone viral on social media.
The store opened in Shiniuzhai National Geological Park in Pingjiang County, Hunan Province, in 2018.
The photos show a small wooden box hanging on the side of a mountain to provide snacks to climbers.

“In the Hunan province in China, 120 metres (393 feet) up the side of a cliff. There is a shop. It supplies climbers with essential snacks, refreshments, and sustenance during their ascent. The post has gone viral on the microblogging platform, garnering more than 6.8 lakh views.
One user said, “Every business has ups and downs.” Another wrote, “But they don’t have a place to sit?”
A third user added, “This is just crazy and incredible at the same time.” Someone joked, “What do you mean you’re out of Mountain Dew….????” A comment read, “And I thought my work commute was bad.” Yet another posted, “Is this a shop for mountain goats.”
The shop employees are professional rock climbers. The stock for the shop is reportedly transported via a special rope conveyer. Only one employee is stationed at the shop at all times.
