The parents of missing British child Madeleine McCann have agreed to a DNA test of a Polish woman they believe to be their daughter.

Jerry and Kate McCann, whose 3-year-old daughter Madeleine went missing while vacationing in Portugal over 15 years ago, are tracking down Julia Faustina’s claim that she was the kidnapped infant. told the Daily Beast this week.

Faustina, 21, became an internet sensation this month when she started posting on social media. @iammadeleinemccannEarlier this week, she updated her Instagram bio, writing, “Kate and Jerry McCann agreed to a DNA test!”

Many of Faustyna’s posts document an obvious physical resemblance between Faustyna and Madeleine. characteristic brown stain on the right iris of both girls.

“The eyes, the shape of the face, the ears, the lips, the gap between the teeth are similar. [as Madeleine]'” she wrote in one post, along with several photos of both herself and the missing child.
