Charleston, South Carolina (WCSC) – MUSC is making healthcare more accessible in the town of Seabrook. They say this will provide emergency and primary medical services so locals won’t have to travel miles for hospital treatment.

According to MUSC’s website, the new building could be built on Seabrook Island Road near Bohecket Marina.

According to MUSC, 50% of the funding so far comes from Sea Isle residents, donors, prospects and patients. MUSC accepts donations up to $100,000.

According to hospital officials, MUSC Health Sea Island is a “state-of-the-art” medical facility, with patients having access to a trauma room and a new self-contained emergency room with helipad-equipped full testing services.

The medical facility also has full radiology and CT scanning services, on-site labs and diagnostic treatments, and occupational and physical therapy departments.

MUSC said its goal is to set a completion date or month to maximize resident engagement by the end of 2023.

A meeting will be held on Tuesday afternoon to discuss this project.
