CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati Bengals’ Monday night football game against the Buffalo Bills was suspended after a Buffalo Bills player was taken off the field in an ambulance.

Safety Dumar Hamlin was hit while attempting to tackle Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins in the middle of the field during the first quarter. According to news partner WCPO.
Hamlin got to his feet after the hit, but was soon hit by the ground.
Medical staff in Buffalo immediately began helping as an ambulance arrived on the scene and the station reported that medical workers were performing CPR, WCPO reported.
Hamlin’s family was at the game, and his mother was in the ambulance with him when he was taken to the University of California Medical Center, WCPO said.

The NFL has announced that Hamlin is in critical condition. according to the statement.
Players from both teams crowded around the medical staff, some kneeling and holding hands.
According to WCPO, Hamlin collapsed on the field for at least 10 minutes before being loaded into an ambulance and removed from Peycoe Stadium.
Dummer Hamlin’s agent issued a statement to the media. According to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport.
Agency 1 Sports’ Ira Turner said, “Please keep praying for Damar and his family. There are currently no updates at this time. Please continue to pray for the family.”
A UC Medical Center spokeswoman said it would not provide an update on Monday night.

Damar Hamlin’s marketing rep, Jordan Rooney, said: statement on twitter about him around 10:31pm According to WCPO.
Rooney said:
Update on Damar: His vitals have returned to normal and we put him to sleep to have a breathing tube inserted down his throat. They are running tests now. We will provide updates as soon as they are available.

Rooney also encouraged prayers to Damar, According to a social media post.

Hamlin, 24, is from Pittsburgh and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh. He was selected by the Bills in the sixth round of the 2021 draft.
According to WCPO, teams are typically given five minutes to reset and restart the game. However, coaches Zach Taylor and Sean McDermott met and brought both teams back to the locker room. Officials said the game was “temporarily suspended” until further notice, after which the league announced it would suspend all play on Monday night.
Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and the rest of the team unlocked and entered the Bills’ locker room, according to WCPO.
The Bengals were leading 7-3 in the first quarter before play was suspended.
