Harrisburg, Pennsylvania – The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) today announced it has awarded more than $2.7 million in grants to 130 local educational institutions (LEAs) across the Commonwealth to purchase new food service equipment for their cafeterias.
“Students need access to healthy, nutritious meals in and out of the classroom so that they can learn, grow and thrive,” said Acting Secretary of Education Dr. Khalid N. Moomin. “The feeding facilities subsidy will give schools access to highly functional facilities and well-equipped cafeterias to better serve hungry hearts and bellies every day.”
