The medical school ranked 35th in the country for research, up from 37th in last year’s ranking. In other graduate school rankings released last month, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine continued to move up from 9th place in the previous survey. Currently, it ranks fifth in the nation as a public university veterinary school.

Medical school research rankings are based on factors such as acceptance rates, faculty-to-student ratios, federal research funding, and national surveys of faculty and academic administrators.

The latest rankings further strengthen UF and UF Health’s strong national reputation. UF is this country’s 5th Public University, according to US News & World Report.University of Florida College of Pharmacy Ranked 5th in Japan. Together, UF Health Shannes Hospital and UF Health Shannes Children’s Hospital have more nationally-ranked specialties than any other hospital in Florida. Five adult health specialties and five pediatric health specialties were recognized for excellence.
