The latest episode of Married at First Sight made many viewers sympathize with a male star.
Viewers witnessed Solihull sales director David go on his honeymoon with his new wife, Shalene. Channel Four’s blind wedding experimental program.
A panel of expert matchmakers judged the pair to be a match made in heaven.
But while things initially looked promising for the couple, it seemed like it was becoming a matchmaking hell as far as David’s bride was concerned.
Everything went wrong when 56-year-old David gave Charlene an unusual but very practical gift: an outdoor survival kit.
This strange gift made the new wife question whether they should be together. Despite previously saying she shares her love of adventure.
Since then, David has appeared to be fighting a losing battle to please his new lover.
Charlene’s response to his efforts to please shocked the audience assembled for the show. Birmingham Live Facebook page comment.
Laura Allen said “He deserves better than her! She’s too expensive to maintain.”
Lawrence added, “I can’t believe she gave him up in seconds just because he brought his survival bag!”
“She’ll be the first to thank him when he pulls out a CPR tube while she’s suffocating in her shallow ethics in the middle of Snowdonia!”
Mandy Tracy Timmins agreed, saying, “She tries too hard to last.”
“He definitely deserves better than her. Expensive maintenance is an understatement,” posted Diane Fortress.
David apparently admitted he was more into his bride than he was, but hoped things would improve since they “have so much in common.”
So he endured. During his honeymoon walk, he noted that they were passing through the “kiss gate.”
He pursed his lips and bent down to kiss her, but she offered her cheek.
Shaleen, 47, has three grown children who moved from Durban, South Africa, to Llanelli, Wales.
David also has three older children and matchmakers say they share some common values, including kindness, morality and love of family.

Charlene’s strong suspicions proved to be too much for a teary-eyed David, and at one point he broke down in front of the camera in tears.
Kay Matheson was also puzzled by what was going on, saying, “Who else has a emergency bag ready? That guy is a genius. I could have cried with him! ‘ posted.
Diane McGurk seemed to speak for most viewers when she posted, “I don’t like cold Charlene.”
Genevieve Gresse, one of the show’s matchmakers, seemed to be as outraged as the audience.
“Shalene thinks she’s an open person, but she’s not,” Genevieve said to the camera.
Meanwhile, main show matchmaker Paul C. Branson told the single mother to “work hard” for marriage.
However, not everyone believed that this couple was doomed.
Sandra Smith said, “I’m just looking. It looks good.”
Lynne Crilley added, “Seeing this, I thought she was happy with him.”
David and Charlene appeared on the show alongside another married couple, Michelle, 25, an elementary school teacher, and Owen, 31, an IT sales manager.
