A woman was attacked by a hawk and a snake at the same time in a bizarre incident reported from the US state of Texas.
Silsbee, Texas: A woman was attacked by a hawk and a snake at the same time after the bird accidentally dropped the reptile on her.
Peggy Jones, 64, from Silsbee, Texas, was mowing her lawn on the evening of July 25 when a hawk flying by dropped a large snake on her.
The snake wrapped itself around Peggy’s arm and began striking her face as the hawk flew down for its prey. The bird sunk its talons deep into Peggy’s flesh in an attempt to reclaim its food.
The terrifying incident left her with cuts and bruises on her arm and face.
Peggy told The Silsbee Bee, “I was violently shaking my arm to try and get the snake off. He just wrapped and squeezed tighter and tighter.”
The hawk retreated four times to catch hold of its prey, slapping her in the face with its wings.
She said, “The hawk was darting in and out grabbing for the snake. His wings were slapping me while he was clawing at the snake and that is where the deeper cuts and rips came from.”

Peggy recalled, “I’m screaming during this whole time, ‘Help me, Jesus! Please, help me, Jesus!’”
When her husband Wendell heard her screaming, he rushed to find Peggy screaming and crying, with her bloodied arm.
The hawk eventually flew away with its meal.
Peggy was rushed to the hospital where she was given antibiotics.
After hearing her story, the doctors asked if she was on drugs.
The doctors bandaged her arm. Fortunately, she was not bitten by the snake.
Peggy said that she was grateful to be alive.
